What Does God Want?

What Does God Want?
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

What Would It Look Like If God Did What He Wanted?
In 2008 The Cypress Project reported that we see expanding movement of the Gospel almost everywhere around the world.

28,000 new believers every 24 hours in Africa.
12,000 new believers every 24 hours in China.
8,000 new believers every 24 hours in India.

Every 7 minutes a church is planted in Latin America.
More believers in Africa than people in America - 425 million.
More churches in India than churches in America.

What is Our Current Landscape However?
Locally, the Buffalo-Niagara region has 1.2 million people between Erie and Niagara counties. On any given weekend, no more than 120,000 people attend an evangelical church. Statistically, considerably less than 10% have a personal relationship with Christ.

What Would It Look Like For God To Move Here?
Western New York was once referred to as the burned over district. The burned-over district refers to the western and central regions of New York in the early 19th century, where religious revivals and the formation of new religious movements of the Second Great Awakening took place. This was a supernatural process. This was an exciting time.

We are living again in exciting times. The only way God is going to move in this region again is if he chooses to do so in a supernatural manner. Then, and only then is when church growth, strengthening, and multiplication will occur.

What becomes your motivation in that scenario? To make God's agenda more prominent than your own, so that every man, woman, and child would experience the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Sound too grand? Sound impossible? Ask yourself this question. How overwhelming is the Great Commission to you? Then, pray and petition God that we might see this day!
