A Small Beginning

A Small Beginning...

"The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches." Matthew 13:31-32

Have you ever been skiing with a child? I have. My kids are beginning to really get the hang of it. At age 6 & 8, they are grasping the basics of skiing at a startling rate. As they fearlessly go whooshing down the slopes, I find myself looking at them in astonishment wondering how it is possible. Just a year ago, they were clinging to me, begging me not to let them go. Now, they want to ski black diamond hills, and slice through wooded tree lines.

The Winter Olympics start this week. I'm not claiming that my kids superior athletes, but what they do have in common with those olympians is that they all had to start small. They all had to begin with the basics.

Renewal Church has started by learning the basics. We have focus on three things alone. Three things that are foundational to build everything else up from. We will ReDiscover FAITH, ReNew HOPE, and ReAwaken LOVE. Would you pray with us that God would take our small beginnings and grow it into something amazing?
