It's So Hard To Say Goodbye

This summer we have cycled through a 7 mission teams who have come and worked with us shoulder to shoulder as we sweat and toil to reach our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have helped us lead sports camps, renovate our spaces, and  give service projects much needed manpower. But, in just a few days, the last team will get on a plane and fly away. What will we do then?

Four years ago Josh Laravia came to serve as Lead Pastor of Randall Church. During this season, many of us have spent a great deal of time shoulder to shoulder with him and his great family as they have also poured  in sweat equity, sowed tears of both pain and joy, in hopes of reaping a harvest of a movement of the Gospel in our region. In just a few days, Josh will get on a plane and fly away. What will we do then?

Although he had his share of hiccups along the way, Moses was an incredible leader, and asset to the Israelites. However, there came a day when he could no longer go forward with them into the promised land, because God had other plans for him. It was at this juncture, that Joshua was encouraged to step forward.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Yes, it's hard to say goodbye. But these have been some of the greatest days we've experienced as a region for the continuance of the Gospel. And there's more to come.

Be strong. Be courageous. God is with us.
