6 Inches Of Snow. 6 Things You Should Know.

6 Inches Of Snow.

A beautiful white blanket of fresh snow fell last night—which means there was a collective GROANING among the human population. It's actually audible if you go outside—what sounds like wind, is actually people bemoaning the storm all over the North-East. People think I'm nuts—but I'm one of those guys who really do like the snow. Something about it just draws me in, and in the end I think a good snow draws people together.

"The vast quiet, the immense white blanket brings a tranquility that is unparalleled. There's no denying snow is beautiful! It's mysterious and amazing in innumerable ways. Looking at the snow fall, and the beauty it creates enlarges our admiration and awe of God's creative power and personal delight." - Cary Schmidt

You don't have to be a fan of snow to live in Buffalo, NY... but it doesn't hurt!

6 Things You Should Know.

1. Christmas At Randall.
We kicked off the 2018 Christmas season last week with the Turkey bowl. The month of December will really be a special time for our church. This weekend I would like to highlight The Story Walk Through after our morning worship gathering December 2nd. We unveil the first phase of The Story Christmas Experience. You have the opportunity to walk through the building and see the progress made. We welcome all feedback as we prepare for Christmas 2019.

2. Sermon Series: 'Tis The Season!
When Jesus was born, everything changed. What was previously known about God was now unknown. This all-powerful, all-knowing, always-presence but distant God has become one of us. The flesh and blood moved into the neighborhood and showed us the Way. And there is only one appropriate response: worship. Join us for this sermon series as we prepare for the Christ of Christmas and worship him with all we have. 'Tis the Season, not for Christmas but for Christ.

3. Christmas Tree Lighting(s).
If you live in Lancaster or Cheektowaga, you already missed your local tree lighting, but Clarence, Village of Williamsville, and Buffalo residents have major community gatherings scheduled over the next few days. Don't miss this great opportunity to be a Gospel Presence in your neighborhood. Trust God that just being out and about and rubbing elbows with people at key times will lead to meaningful conversations that could change a person's life.

4. Chic-Fil-A Opens!
The cows started writing on billboards in the Buffalo metro earlier this year. End of Burgerz — Koming Soon. I'm not sure if I am ready to be one of the first 100 customers camping out in a snowy parking lot overnight to earn a year's worth of chicken sandwiches, but mark me down as ready. Time to Eat Mor Chikin. I don't shy away from telling you that my wife and I went to Pioneer High school with owner Cassie Sheedy. I'm absolutely certain she will be all about community events she'll host. Sheedy is a mom of three, a St. Bonaventure graduate and former pharmaceutical sales rep who grew up on a cattle farm in Arcade,  and waited six years for her own Chick-fil-A.

5. The Thrill Of Hope!
Many thanks to all of you who have been following our family story and our daughter Hazyl's fight to get her happy back. After nine weeks of inpatient treatment, she progressed from inpatient to outpatient treatment. Her reunion with the three-legged family dog on the hospital steps was a love-fest and an incredible moment that won't be forgotten soon. Hope fills our hearts, and encourages our souls. Pray for continued victories, that can bring our sweetheart home soon.

6. End of Year Giving.

Our Christmas Offering. Each year we bless our Partners during the Christmas season by collecting an additional gift to pass on to them. This gift is above and beyond the $50k we budget in support this year. Let's see if we can bless our local and global missionary partners with an additional 10%.

Our 2020 Capital Campaign. This year we laid out a strategic plan to expand our reach, expand our church, and expand our facilities by the year 2020. With the big goal of $400k in mind, let's see if we can reach 10% of that by the end of the year. Currently, we are about halfway there. There's much to be done. Let's be about it!

This Christmas season would you consider supporting our ministry with a financial gift today? You can do so by going to give.RandallChurch.org and clicking on the drop-down menu and choosing a fund.

We are grateful for your support in any form. Thank you for partnering with us!

And Finally...Take a moment.
"As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refreshes the soul of his masters." Proverbs 25:13

Make a snowman. Drink some hot chocolate. Hope you have a great day!
