Bring Your Bible!

It’s wild to think that into today’s culture—at a time when Bibles have never been more available… when you can have one in any color you want—biblical illiteracy is so incredible rampant. Even in the church, many people don’t know the Word. Some findings that document an overall lack of knowledge among churchgoing Christians include the following:
1. The most widely known Bible verse among adult and teen believers is “God helps those who help themselves” - which is not actually in the Bible and actually conflicts with the basic message of Scripture.
2. Less than one out of every ten believers possess a biblical worldview as a basis for his or her decision making or behavior.

A crisis of basic biblical and theological knowledge exists in America’s churches, and church leaders must do all they can to address this growing problem.
That is why our entire RidgeStudents curriculum centers on God’s Word. We want students to know Christ and His unchanging Word. We are working hard in this area, for your sake. We want a believing generation to be empowered for full, free life in Christ! We want to help you gain a better perspective of God’s redeeming work across all of time.

The thing is, many of our students are still not reading the Bibles that they own. So, in order to make things easier for you, let us suggest the following product:

The Holy Bible: The Game. The description for this Game Boy Advance title reads: “Welcome to The Holy Bible: World English Bible. Now you can bring a small compact copy of The Holy Bible with you where ever you go. Complete with the ability to keep bookmarks and perform word searches. Reading the Bible was never easier.”
The only way this game could be better is if we could be like disciples running around. We could unlock Jesus as a secret character and do His missions. Maybe then students would be able to experience the Bible!

While you can try the game out if you choose, why don’t you start by bringing your Bible to RidgeStudents each week? You will find that this ancient book has the power to transform your life!

BTW – You probably guessed that I didn’t just know all this stuff off the top of my head. A good writer always cites his sources. In my case they were George Barna and Randy Hall. - MILO
