A Time To Speak

First there were the riots in Fergeson, outside of St. Louis, then there were the riots in Baltimore. What will keep the Buffalo / Niagara Region from being thrust into the spotlight for some racially motivated crime?

In places like WNY, the region is ripe for violence. In fact, back in 2013, after the 2010 census, Business Insider pinpointed St Louis as Number 6 in the top 25 most racially segregated cities in America. Guess who was listed at Number 5? You guessed it: Buffalo-Niagara Falls, NY.

The local Christian church community maybe our greatest fire wall against racially based riots. Many people feel overlooked, angry, and rejected. Fortunately, there is a lot that the Gospel can do to change the hearts of fallen man. In fact, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way things can change. The question is will the church be a force of peace and love?

We choose to be proactive, by opening a prayer dialogue towards racial reconciliation for our region.
  • This Sunday, May 17th we will begin with a 3 way conference call with
    • Pastor Josh from Randall Church in Williamsville
    • Pastor Milo from Renewal Church in North Tonawanda, and
    • Pastor Bill Smith from North Buffalo Community Church at 11:00 during our regular worship gatherings.
  • May 31st North Buffalo will host a 12:15 a joint lunch with prayer.
  • June 7th  Randall Church will host 12:15 a joint lunch with prayer.
  • August 16th Renewal Church will host 12:15 a joint lunch with prayer.
Moving forward in racial reconciliation and understanding is absolutely vital to our region and nation's future health and prosperity. Please plan to be involved!

Thank You!

Milo Wilson
